Things Wrong With No Ordinary Family

I've been cleaning up my DVR, and I just watched the latest episode of No Ordinary Family.  A bunch of things stuck out that piss me off due to how far-fetched they are- granted, the entire premise of the show is beyond belief, but at least have some consistency with certain aspects of the plot...

  • The daughter claims she has to find out what one of the burglars who threatened one of her classmates looked like after realizing he lied to the police.  She uses the rationale that if something were to happen to him, she wouldn't be able to live with herself, so she has to try to save him, and touches him, gets the visual image of the guy, and lets her dad sketch him.  He gives it to the cops, they are on the case, she should be fine.  Later, when the sketch becomes public, she says again, that now that its public, she won't be able to live with herself if he gets hurt.  What did she expect, her dad to stake out the kids house until this dude showed up?  What about all the other bad people he could be catching?  What a selfish bitch...
  • Speaking of which, a criminal whose sketch has been made public, especially one burned so badly around the eyes would never stay in the same area, let alone return to the scene of the crime.  Then, the idiot cop who was the lookout is so oblivious, that the criminal can just walk up from behind the car and knock him out with one pistol-whip?  Who are the idiots who write this shit.
  • Also, the dad, Michael Chiklis, has super strength and jumping abilities.  Fine.  But when he jumps, whereever he lands, it almost makes a loud crashing sound, and does damage to the surrounding ground, which they have shown many times on streets and the roofs of industrial buildings, etc.  How is it that when he is doing this in residential neighborhoods, the residents of the houses don't feel these tremors while in their homes, and go out to investigate?  They could explain it by him jumping from house to house quickly, but in this episode, he specifically landed on one house with his buddy George for a stakeout.  Yet nothing from the residents... bullshit
  • Lastly, they used the clean version of C Lo Green's song "Fuck You" ("Forget You") at the end of the song.  I think its complete bullshit that legitimate television shows are using the clean version of this song.  It's clear what the lyrics are about, and just changing the chorus to Forget You doesn't change that.  The fact that it is on this show, and Glee, is a disgrace.  If anything, keep the original version, and just bleep out the "Fuck"  I'd at least respect them a lot more...
